NFL Owner Cuts Funding for Columbia University After Anti-Israel Protests - 'No Longer an Institution I Recognize':

As Columbia University wallows in a seething stew of anti-Semitic hate, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said he will no longer send money to the New York City campus.

In a statement released through his Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, Kraft said, “[T]he school I love so much — the one that welcomed me and provided me with so much opportunity — is no longer an institution I recognize,” according to Fox News.

“I am deeply saddened at the virulent hate that continues to grow on campus and throughout our country. I am no longer confident that Columbia can protect its students and staff, and I am not comfortable supporting the university until corrective action is taken,” he said.

Bit & Pieces (#3) -- Trump will have Nazis in the streets; the NY Times assumes its readers are ignoramuses
  • Whatever you do, don’t vote for Trump because we will then have Nazis in the streets.
"You’ve been warned by none other than Hillary herself (“Putin does what he would like to do — kill his opposition, imprison his opposition, drive, you know, journalists and others into exile, rule without any check or balance — that’s what Trump really wants.”)

Don't Buy the Panic Over Microplastics in Bottled Water

A Big Panic Over Tiny Plastics - MIKE PESCA
  • Science can detect increasingly small particles of plastic in our air and water. That doesn't mean it's bad for you.
"A study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) in January has been used for a media wave of scaremongering about plastic residue in bottled water...
  • The smallest-sized particles the researchers picked up measured 100 nanometers. This means we can now detect bits of plastic so small that 10 million of them would amount to a piece of microplastic a fraction of the width of a hair...
Nearly every news outlet hit concerned thirsty Americans with headlines such as "Scientists Find About a Quarter Million Invisible Nanoplastic Particles in a Liter of Bottled Water" (Associated Press) and "Bottled water contains hundreds of thousands of potentially dangerous plastic fragments: Study" (The Hill), as if the 240,000 figure is directly meaningful to their readers.
The number of pieces of plastic, as opposed to the amount of plastic, is irrelevant to the danger (if there even is a danger), but the aim was to communicate dread at all of the tiny shards of toxicity loosed upon our water-gulping bodies...

UCLA School of Medicine's radical DEI czar clumsily plagiarized vast portions of her dissertation on DEI: Report | Blaze Media

According to Rosiak, Perry's wealth of published knowledge, reducible to a single paper, "stole thousands of words from 10 other papers." In one instance, the DEI czar ostensibly directly copied five continuous pages of material from someone else's work. Perry apparently wasn't even stealthy when stealing other people's ideas, having lifted the first pages of her dissertation from the first page of other published works, including more than 100 words from the first page of a paper by Angela Locks, Sylvia Hurtado, Nicholas Bowman, and Leticia Oseguera.
